Caseificio Longo was founded in the early 1950s in Bosconero, starting from a small family workshop and a specific product: the Tomino del Canavese. From there, a journey of growth took shape, with new products, new facilities, and continuous investments, always with the same focus on quality and Piedmontese dairy culture.

1950

The Origins

In the early 1950s, Antonio Longo started the business in Bosconero together with his wife Franca. In the small family workshop, they produced just one cheese: Tomino del Canavese, made with milk collected from nearby farms and hand-wrapped in rolls, just as it is today.

1960

The tomino becomes established

The product’s success grows. Antonio and Franca process 200 liters of milk every day and expand the team to meet demand, bringing Tomino a Rotolo to Turin as well.

1970

The family grows, the range expands

With the arrival of their children Maurizio, Dario, and Silvana, the production facility also grew. Alongside the rolled Tomini, Paglierina and Tomino del Boscaiolo were introduced, paving the way for cooking cheeses.

1980

Tomini in oil have arrived

The laboratory continues to grow, and the range is enriched with a new addition inspired by Piedmontese culinary tradition: Tomini in oil.

1990

A family calling

The children begin working permanently in the company, each with a different role. The dairy continues to grow while maintaining the same calling as its origins: celebrating the territory and working with selected milk from Canavese.

2000

Reviving tradition

Among the Longo family’s goals is to bring back the flavors of Piedmontese tradition to the table. This led to the creation of Seirass Reale Piemontese.

2008

The new facility

In 2008, the new facility in Rivarolo Canavese was inaugurated, which still represents the company’s main headquarters today. A structure equipped with modern systems, designed to ensure quality and food safety according to recognized standards such as BRC and IFS.

2010

The Alba facility is established

Caseificio Longo expands its locations with the Alba plant, where Robiola d’Alba is produced. This move further strengthens the company’s bond with the Piedmont region.

2016

An ever-expanding production

The company collects and processes over 1,500 quintals of milk from more than 70 farms in Piedmont. A significant evolution from the 200 liters processed at the beginning of the Longo story.

2019

New lines and new investments

New lines dedicated to Robiola d’Alba and Luna di Primosale were added to this journey. In the same year, a photovoltaic system was also installed, as part of an evolution involving the product, infrastructure, and energy awareness.

2025

Production line renewal

Our growth continues with the renewal and expansion of the production lines for Tomino del Boscaiolo and ricotta, alongside the packaging lines for Luna di Primosale.

2026

New aging rooms

The Dairy undergoes a new expansion dedicated to Toma with the construction of new aging rooms, designed to support production development and future growth.

Our mission

Bringing the flavours of Piedmontese tradition to the table. This is what inspired our desire to introduce the traditional products of Piedmontese cheese-making to the rest of Italy and the world.

Caseificio Longo grows as a family business and continues to carry this identity forward today. Continuity between generations, the direct presence of the family, and shared work have accompanied every stage of the company’s evolution: from the first workshop to today’s facility. This is also why, behind every product, there is a work culture made of responsibility, connection, and daily presence.
